D R Hood writes epic fantasy from Radford, Virginia. His love of stories started in public libraries and summer reading programs, the kind of places where a kid can walk out with an armful of other worlds.
He spent fifteen years teaching, and he often wrote his own stories for his students' assessments because the ones in the book weren't good enough. Today he's an Instructional Resource Technology Teacher, still helping people find their way into learning.
He's also a songwriter and producer. He wrote and produced a full album for awkphze (say it "awkward phase"), a fictional cartoon band. Listen on Spotify, or find it on Apple Music.
Martin, Sanderson, Jacques, Schwab, King, and Dekker shaped his love of fantasy, magic, horror, and the spiritual questions underneath them. All of that pours into The Divine Friction, his epic fantasy trilogy, which begins with Before the Violet Tide.
